Sort your patient list

Patients are sorted by first name by default. You can also sort by number of sessions, last session date, or age, and your choice sticks.

Desktop widget

Dock the widget to the left, right, or bottom edge of your screen. It lists today's sessions, starts an instant or scheduled session, shows whether you're recording or paused, and supports dictation.

Patient suggestions

A finished session without a patient suggests up to 3 of your patients, based on the calendar guest, the session name, your notes, or the transcript. Confirm with one click, or dismiss it.

Search past sessions

View sessions now includes a list of past sessions with search, so you can find a note without browsing the calendar.

An added layer of encryption

Transcripts, notes in every format, session summaries, and your personal notes are now also encrypted inside ClinicFrame with a key of their own.

Schedule from the calendar

Click a time slot to open New Session with that date and start time filled in.

Preview default templates

Click a default template on the Templates screen to see its description and every section before you use it.

Features

ClinicFrame for Chrome

The Chrome extension detects video calls on Google Meet, Zoom, Doxy.me, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms, and sends the call's audio to your telehealth session. No more picking a tab in Chrome's share dialog.

Interruptions you can't miss

If the connection or the microphone drops mid-session, a banner and a popup stay on screen until recording resumes, and a sound plays once. The recording indicator tells you which one dropped.

Every session gets its note

Each ended session produces its note exactly once. If you close the app right after ending a session, or generation fails, the note is generated afterward. A session with an empty transcript tells you why there's no note.

Rate your notes

Give any note a thumbs up or down. A thumbs down lets you pick a reason, like Inaccurate or Missing information, and add a comment.

Chrome notifications

Pre-session reminders and other alerts can arrive as native Chrome notifications. Each one shows up once, in the most relevant place.

Improvements & fixes

  • Save & start new saves the current session and writes its note, the same as End.
  • The last minute of a session is kept after a network drop instead of being discarded.
  • Telehealth recording no longer keeps pausing when Bluetooth earbuds switch audio devices during a browser call.
  • With microphone access blocked, a session no longer shows Recording with a frozen timer.
  • The browser tab shows a waveform while you record and a pause icon when you pause.

Features

A Free plan that doesn't expire

The 7-day trial is now a Free plan: 150 recording minutes and 15 sessions a week, refilled every Monday. Reaching a limit only stops you from starting something new. A session that's already recording is never cut off.

Copy a note by section

Each section of a note has its own copy button, so you can paste it into the matching field in your EHR. Copying the full note works as before.

Recording reconnects on its own

If your connection drops mid-session, the microphone stays open and recording retries automatically. Up to 2 minutes of audio captured while offline is sent once you're back.

Notes follow the session's language

Notes are written in the language spoken in the session. The separate note language setting is gone.

Telehealth in Safari and Firefox

You can capture the patient's side of a telehealth session from Safari and Firefox, not only Chrome and Edge.

Improvements & fixes

  • Fewer notes fail to generate, and the ones that do explain why.
  • Signing the BAA is now an onboarding step right after microphone setup. If you're already covered, you won't see it.
  • Your personal templates appear first in the New format menu.
  • Home suggests connecting your calendar if you haven't yet.
  • The desktop app reopens on its own after an update and keeps you signed in.
  • On Mac, closing the window or pressing Cmd+Q keeps ClinicFrame in the menu bar. Quit Completely is in the menu bar icon.
  • The pre-session reminder shows the right time when it's set to 5 or 10 minutes.
  • A false “We couldn't start the session” error no longer appears while the recording consent dialog is open.
  • Upcoming charges now account for referral credit.

A better fit on phones and tablets

We went through the app on small screens. The note screen, the session screen, the recording widget, Patients, onboarding, and Settings now fit phone widths, and the recording controls stay put while you record or pause.

Improvements & fixes

  • Payments that need extra card authentication (3D Secure) now ask for it instead of failing with a generic error.
  • After you sign up on the web, a screen guides you back to the desktop app.
  • Creating an account from CompliantChatGPT asks you to accept the ClinicFrame terms in the same window.
  • The Back button on the pricing page no longer loops when you arrive from CompliantChatGPT.
  • ClinicFrame buttons in the CompliantChatGPT desktop app no longer open an error screen.
  • The transcript stays reachable on phones during a dictation session.

Notes save as you edit

Notes autosave while you edit and show whether they're saving, saved, or not synced. If your connection drops, your edits stay on your device and sync once it's back. A failed save tells you so.

Meeting detection on Windows

The Windows desktop app now detects telehealth calls on its own, the same way the Mac app does.

Improvements & fixes

  • The Calendar and the scheduling flow remind you that ClinicFrame reads your Google Calendar and doesn't change it.
  • The New Session screen fits without scrolling. On phones, Start Session stays in view at the bottom.
  • On phones, calendar event details open on screen instead of off the edge.
  • On phones, the session title on Home no longer overlaps its button.
  • Spacing between page headers and content is consistent on phones.

ClinicFrame inside CompliantChatGPT

If you use CompliantChatGPT, you can open your ClinicFrame session history there with single sign-on. You can also import your custom modes as note templates in one step. Files attached to a mode aren't copied.

Automatic calendar sync

Your calendar now syncs on its own: periodically, when you open the Calendar, and right after you connect or disconnect an account. Manual sync still works.

Clearer telehealth setup on the web

Setting up a telehealth recording no longer lets you skip the patient's audio by mistake, and the setup window fits on screen without scrolling.

Improvements & fixes

  • The Calendar screen shows which calendar account is syncing, or that none is connected.
  • Signing up on Windows sends the ClinicFrame welcome email instead of CompliantChatGPT emails.
  • Recording keeps going when a microphone is unplugged or disconnected mid-session.
  • A false “we're not picking up any sound” alert no longer appears during a recording.

No more lost note edits

Leaving a note with unsaved changes asks whether to save or discard them. Save and Cancel stay visible while you scroll through a long note.

Calendar attendees and setup

Sessions and Home show who's invited to meetings synced from your calendar. You can connect a calendar during onboarding, or later from Settings.

Checkout from the pricing page

Choosing a plan on the pricing page takes you straight to checkout with just your email.

Improvements & fixes

  • Settings states that the calendar integration works with Google Calendar only.
  • Contact support on the microphone step opens the support chat directly.
  • The time picker labels its hour, minute, and AM/PM columns.
  • Account emails were redesigned and rewritten to be clearer.

Features

More room in the calendar

The calendar shows at least 9 AM to 6 PM without scrolling and takes more of the screen. The Sessions screen is now called Calendar, to match what it shows.

Terms and Privacy Policy consent

New accounts agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy with a checkbox at sign-up, and checkout shows the same agreement. If you already have an account, you'll see a one-time notice about the update.

Improvements & fixes

  • The onboarding window is smaller, so the app stays visible behind it. The next step is clickable from the checklist.
  • The sidebar collapses on tablets as well as phones.
  • Required fields at sign-up and in template creation are marked with an asterisk.
  • Template options now read “Start from scratch” and “Bring your own.”
  • On Firefox, the microphone indicator shows the device name instead of “Name unavailable.”

Google Calendar sync

Connect Google Calendar in Settings and your appointments show up in the ClinicFrame calendar. Cancellations and reschedules carry over too.

Session trash

Delete a session from the Patients tab or the calendar. It moves to the trash, and you can restore it for 30 days.

Describe a template, get a draft

When you create a note template, describe what you need and ClinicFrame drafts it. Refine it in a short chat before you save.

See and switch your microphone

The recording screen shows which microphone is capturing audio. If it picked the wrong one, switch to another device.

Sign the BAA in Settings

Review and accept the Business Associate Agreement from Settings at any time. One agreement covers both ClinicFrame and CompliantChatGPT.

Delete your account

Permanently delete your account from Settings, after a confirmation step.

Improvements & fixes

  • Signing in or signing up from a campaign link no longer shows a “Something went wrong” screen.
  • The billing screen lists every month, marks months with no charge, and links to Manage Subscription.
  • Google Meet calls are detected from microphone use, so macOS no longer asks for a permission when you join one.
  • The trial-ended screen states the first-month discount clearly.
  • Dictate Anywhere turns on correctly for accounts that have it, and a finished recording returns its transcription.
  • One incomplete session no longer keeps your session list from loading.
  • After you sign in to the desktop app through your browser, the browser tab confirms it worked.

  • Sign-up no longer fails when the automatic security check doesn't load. A visible check appears instead.

Features

A week view for your calendar

The calendar is now a week grid with hourly rows. Each session sits at its scheduled time, and its height shows how long it runs. Click an empty slot to book a session and drag down to set its length.

Edit and delete patients

You can now change a patient's details or delete the patient. Before, a patient could only be created.

Sort, filter, and search

The Patients screen is now a list you can sort by name or date and narrow with filters. The Sessions section has a search bar, so you can find a session without scrolling.

Telehealth on the web

ClinicFrame Web can capture the audio of a shared browser tab, so a telehealth session records both sides of the call.

Retry a failed note

If note generation fails, for example after a dropped connection, you can retry from the same screen. The session isn't lost.

Start a session from the Quick Bar

Pick the session type and the patient and start recording from the Quick Bar, without opening the main window.

Transcripts as PDF

Export a session transcript as a PDF. Notes and transcripts now share the same ClinicFrame layout.

Choose when reminders arrive

Set how early the pre-session reminder shows up in Settings > Notifications. It used to be fixed at 1 minute.

Referral program

Share your referral link from Settings. A colleague who subscribes gets a discount on their first paid months, and you earn account credit.

Improvements & fixes

  • You can change a session's duration from the Edit session window.
  • Dismissing the update banner hides it for that version only. Settings > General shows your version and lets you check for updates.
  • You can attach an image or video when you send feedback.
  • A Clear chat button resets the session chat.
  • The update button is disabled during an active session, so an update can't interrupt it.
  • On a phone, the patient list shows as cards, and a session's title and note fit the screen.
  • The Allow microphone access button in onboarding now opens the system permission prompt.
  • A paused session shows as Paused on Home, not Recording.
  • A note opens right away when you reopen the app just after recording.
  • A wrong password now reads “Incorrect email or password.”
  • The cursor in patient search stays where you're typing.
  • The date picker closes once you pick a day.

Dictate Anywhere

Hold a hotkey anywhere on your computer and talk. When you let go, the text is typed wherever your cursor is, in any app.

Dictation sessions

A new session type for narrating a recap after you see the patient instead of recording the conversation live. ClinicFrame transcribes the recap and writes the note from it, the same way it does for a live session.

ClinicFrame on the web

The web app is now a complete way to use ClinicFrame, not a lighter version of the desktop app. It shows the same critical alerts, like lost audio or a failed save. Telehealth sessions still open in the desktop app.

Search inside a transcript

Find a word or phrase in the full transcript instead of scrolling through it.

Broader meeting detection

ClinicFrame now notices a meeting from microphone use in general, not only when it sees Google Meet or Zoom.

Improvements & fixes

  • Error messages now say what happened and what's safe. A dropped transcription, for example, reads “Transcription lost its connection.”
  • A back button on the patient screen takes you back to the patient list.
  • The app says “session” everywhere instead of mixing “visit” and “scribe.”
  • Account actions now live in one profile menu in the sidebar.
  • If you leave onboarding halfway, the app reminds you where you left off.
  • The help button no longer overlaps the recording indicator.
  • The “meeting detected” notification no longer comes back after you dismiss it.
  • The Quick Bar lines up correctly on external monitors.

Your trial starts when you're ready

The 7-day free trial now begins when you finish onboarding, not when you create your account. Setup no longer eats into it.

  • The Continue button in onboarding works again when you pick a note template other than Enhanced Note, like SOAP, DAP, or BIRP.
  • Sessions recorded on older app versions open again instead of showing “Failed to load session.”
