Freed AI Pricing in 2026: Plans, Costs, and Limits

A source-linked guide to monthly prices, annual cash cost, note limits, EHR Push, discounts, billing, and the plan that fits each workflow.

On this page

Freed AI currently starts at $39 per clinician each month for up to 40 notes. Core costs $79 monthly and includes unlimited notes. Premier costs $119 monthly or $1,248 annually. The annual Premier price equals $104 monthly. Groups uses custom pricing.

Those prices were checked on September 11, 2026. They answer only the first budget question. The right plan depends on note volume, EHR transfer, team controls, contract terms, and correction work.

This page focuses only on Freed's plans and total usable cost. For a vendor-by-vendor shortlist, use our Freed alternatives guide. For the broader category, see the cheapest AI medical scribes.

Why Some Freed Pages Still Say $99

An older Freed medical-notes landing page still describes one Individual plan at $99 monthly. That conflicts with the current main pricing page and the recently updated pricing help article.

We use the current plan-specific help article for the $39, $79, and $119 prices. Do not average the old and new amounts. Check the selected plan and total again at checkout.

Older reviews and discussion posts also repeat $99. They may describe a previous offer accurately for their date, but they do not establish today's price. This is why every mutable amount needs a checked date.

What Each Freed Plan Includes

Starter: The 40-Note Plan

Starter is listed at $39 each month for one clinician and up to 40 notes. It includes the core note workflow, specialty templates, customization, and live support under the current pricing materials.

This plan fits a low-volume clinician only when 40 notes cover a normal month. It can also fit a narrow pilot after the trial. A recurring workload above 40 notes changes the relevant price to Core.

Starter is not a low-cost path to ongoing automated chart transfer. Freed'sEHR Push help article gives Starter and Core five chart transfers total. The allowance is lifetime, not monthly.

Core: Unlimited Notes Without Continuing EHR Push

Core is listed at $79 monthly and includes unlimited note generation. Freed also lists live onboarding, an AI editing assistant, and an instant template builder in its current help article.

Core is the relevant public tier for a clinician who regularly exceeds 40 notes. It is also the clean comparison for unlimited note generation without Premier's broader workflow.

Unlimited notes should not be read as unlimited use of every feature. The five lifetime EHR Push limit still applies. A clinician can copy a reviewed note into an unsupported or ungated destination, but that adds transfer work.

Premier: EHR Push and Post-Visit Functions

Premier is listed at $119 monthly. The current annual option costs $1,248 upfront, equal to $104 monthly. Paying month to month for one year totals $1,428.

Freed positions Premier for recurring EHR Push, prior-visit summaries, patient context, patient instructions, letters, referrals, dictation, saved phrases, and coding suggestions. Each function needs its own local check.

EHR Push works through a Chrome extension for browser-based EHRs. Freed lists verified products in its help article. Other browser-based systems may work, but a practice should not budget around an unverified connection.

A buyer should confirm section mapping, supported fields, failed-transfer recovery, and final chart placement. Browser transfer is useful, but it is not proof of a native bidirectional EHR integration.

Groups: A Quote for Team Requirements

Freed lists Groups as custom pricing. Its help article says a team needs at least two clinicians on one plan. Smaller groups may pay standard individual rates, while larger organizations may receive custom prices.

The listed Groups scope includes Premier functions, medical-assistant users, patient sharing, admin dashboards, custom configurations, SSO, centralized billing, clinic onboarding, priority support, and account management.

No public per-seat amount supports a reliable team total. Ask for the full recurring price, implementation charges, minimum term, renewal terms, support scope, and charges for added users.

The 40-to-41-Note Price Step

Starter costs $39 while the clinician stays within 40 notes. The forty-first note makes Core the relevant listed plan at $79. That is a $40 monthly step, not a small overage fee.

A low-volume practice should test a normal month, not a quiet week. Include rescheduled visits, intakes, urgent encounters, and notes that need a second draft. Ask Freed how each event counts before purchase.

Monthly notesLowest listed fitting tierMonthly subscriptionSubscription cost per noteImportant boundary
20Starter$39$1.95Half of the note allowance is used
40Starter$39About $0.98No capacity remains for another note
41Core$79About $1.93The plan step briefly raises unit cost
80Core$79About $0.99Continuing EHR Push is not included
160Core$79About $0.49Review and transfer work still scale
240Core$79About $0.33Premier may be needed for EHR Push

Per-note figures divide the subscription by completed notes. They exclude corrections, failed recordings, transfer, training, governance, and other systems. A lower unit price does not establish better value or safer output.

When Premier Is the Real Comparison Price

Some buyers compare a competitor's full workflow against Freed Starter. That comparison can be misleading. Use Premier's price when the requirement includes continuing EHR Push or Premier-only post-visit functions.

For example, a clinician producing 160 monthly notes pays $79 for Core. The apparent cost is about $0.49 per note. That figure excludes repeated chart copying after the five lifetime EHR Push transfers end.

Premier annual costs $104 monthly equivalent. At 160 notes, that is $0.65 per note before review and transfer work. The extra $25 monthly equivalent buys a different workflow, not proven note quality.

Compare the complete route from encounter to authenticated record. The subscription card matters only when the required capture, template, review, and EHR steps are included.

Free Trial and Discounts

Freed currently describes a seven-day trial with Premier features and no billing information. The trial will not automatically convert into a paid subscription under that help guidance.

The current Platform Terms also restrict trial use to evaluation. They state that trial access is not for commercial or professional use. Confirm the permitted pilot before using real patient information.

Synthetic encounters are the cleanest starting point. Properly authorized cases still require the right agreement, safeguards, consent process, and local approval. Do not assume a signup screen resolves those duties.

Freed lists two trainee offers. Eligible students, residents, fellows, and trainees may receive 12 months of Core at no cost. Eligible trainees may also receive up to 50 percent off monthly Premier.

The Premier trainee discount requires proof and does not apply to annual or marketplace subscriptions. Confirm approval and the displayed total before paying. An eligibility offer should not be presented as the standard price.

Freed also describes a referral credit. Both parties receive a free month after the referred clinician completes the first paid month and the referral is verified. Treat it as a conditional credit, not a recurring discount.

Billing, Cancellation, and Refunds

Freed says it charges at the start of each billing cycle. Direct subscribers manage their plan through account settings. Cancellation stops renewal after the already-paid period.

The help article says refunds are not provided by default after cancellation. Annual Premier therefore places more cash at risk if the workflow stops fitting. Review refund, renewal, and termination language before prepaying.

App Store and Google Play subscriptions follow each marketplace's billing, cancellation, and refund process. Freed recommends subscribing directly for the clearest pricing and account support. Marketplace taxes can change the displayed total.

Canceling a subscription is separate from deleting an account. Freed says templates and personalization remain with the account unless deletion is requested. Note retention depends on the selected settings.

A buyer should decide the exit process before starting. Record how to export required data, delete retained information, preserve records elsewhere, and prove completion. Contract review should confirm the available export window.

BAA and Privacy Are Not Optional Price Details

Freed's BAA help article says its BAA is included in the Platform Terms accepted at signup. It also explains how to request a separate signed copy.

Larger organizations can request an organization-wide agreement. Confirm the contracting entity, covered users, product modules, and effective date. Store the executed document with procurement and compliance records.

HHS cloud guidance says regulated entities generally need an appropriate BAA when a provider handles ePHI on their behalf. The customer still performs its own risk analysis. HHS does not endorse or certify products.

Review permitted data uses, retention, deletion, model settings, subprocessors, support access, breach duties, encryption, authentication, export, and termination. Our AI scribe BAA guideturns those questions into a contract checklist.

Privacy claims and clinical quality are different questions. A BAA allocates responsibilities. It does not prove accurate notes, correct coding, safe deployment, or compliance with every payer and jurisdiction.

The Cost Outside the Subscription

Subscription price is easy to compare because it has one number. Operational cost is less visible. Measure these items during the pilot and the first 30 production days.

  1. Configuration time. Count template setup, sample-note correction, user settings, retention choices, and EHR extension work.
  2. Review time. Measure routine and difficult encounters. Record omissions, unsupported content, attribution, medication, and plan corrections.
  3. Transfer time. Time the path from reviewed draft to the correct EHR fields, including failed transfers and manual copying.
  4. Governance time. Include legal, privacy, security, records, clinical, billing, and procurement review.
  5. Parallel systems. Add duplicate subscriptions, retained transcription tools, and any EHR module that Freed does not replace.
  6. Support and downtime. Track support contacts, workarounds, delayed notes, unavailable devices, and recovery from a failed capture.
  7. Exit work. Include export, deletion, template migration, account closure, and staff retraining if the vendor changes.

The local accuracy protocolshould use representative cases and qualified review. It should not rely on polished demo notes. The result may differ by specialty, accent, visit type, template, and EHR workflow.

Clinical Responsibility Stays With the Professional

Every generated note should remain a draft until the responsible professional reviews it. Verify identity, source attribution, symptoms, findings, medications, orders, assessment, plan, follow-up, and chart destination.

CMS signature guidance says practitioners using a scribe, including AI technology, authenticate the entry for Medicare purposes. Requirements can differ by profession, setting, payer, organization, and jurisdiction.

A pricing tier does not change that responsibility. Coding suggestions, patient instructions, letters, referrals, and historical context each need a defined review owner. A note subscription does not establish reimbursement.

These are evaluation starting points, not recommendations for every practice. Freed may still be the wrong product after the tier is chosen. The opposite is also true. A higher tier may cost less overall when it removes measured transfer work.

How Freed Compares With ClinicFrame on Price

ClinicFrame is part of this comparison because it publishes this article and sells an alternative AI medical scribe. Its current pricing page lists $34.99 monthly or $335.88 annually. The annual price equals $27.99 monthly.

ClinicFrame Starter includes unlimited sessions, custom templates, in-person capture, web telehealth capture, dictation, patient records, and a BAA with each account.

ClinicFrame does not currently offer Freed's EHR Push workflow. A buyer who needs repeated automated browser transfer should price Freed Premier, then measure whether that function offsets the subscription difference.

This page should not choose the vendor for you. Use the full Freed alternatives comparison for switching questions. Use the medical scribe cost guide when comparing software with human or virtual services.

An Eight-Step Buying Check

  1. Count routine and peak monthly notes by clinician. Do not select Starter from a partial month.
  2. List the required capture, template, coding, letter, instruction, context, and EHR transfer functions.
  3. Map each required function to the lowest tier that actually includes it. Keep unknowns out of the savings calculation.
  4. Calculate 12-month cash cost, taxes, discounts, implementation, duplicate systems, and staff time.
  5. Review trial permissions, the BAA, security materials, retention, settings, subprocessors, export, deletion, renewal, and refund terms.
  6. Test representative synthetic or properly authorized cases. Include hard audio, multiple speakers, telehealth, dictation, and specialty templates.
  7. Measure correction, transfer, failure recovery, and final authentication. Do not use draft speed as the only result.
  8. Choose the monthly plan when fit remains uncertain. Prepay only after the production workflow and exit terms are acceptable.

Our broader AI scribe selection guide can structure the full pilot. Record the evidence, decision, open risks, review owner, and reassessment date before rollout.

Final Recommendation

Start with the workflow gate, not the cheapest card. Starter is a credible low-volume plan. Core is the current unlimited-note tier. Premier is the practical price for recurring EHR Push and its additional functions.

The listed annual Premier option saves $180 against 12 monthly payments. That saving matters only after fit is established. Monthly billing limits prepaid exposure while the practice measures real operating cost.

Verify the current Freed checkout, help article, contract, and settings before purchase. Clinical, compliance, legal, and competitor review of this guide is still pending.

Freed currently lists Starter at $39 per month for up to 40 notes, Core at $79 per month with unlimited notes, and Premier at $119 per month. Premier also has a $1,248 annual option, equal to $104 per month. Groups uses custom pricing. Prices and terms were checked September 11, 2026.

Is there a free version of Freed AI?

Freed currently offers a seven-day trial with Premier features and no billing information required. Its help center also describes 12 months of Core at no cost for eligible students, residents, fellows, and trainees. These are eligibility-based offers, not a continuing free plan for every clinician.

Which Freed plan includes unlimited notes?

Core, Premier, and Groups currently include unlimited note generation. Starter is limited to 40 notes per month. Unlimited notes do not mean unlimited use of every function. Starter and Core receive only five lifetime EHR Push transfers under Freed's current help article.

How much does Freed Premier cost annually?

Freed lists Premier at $1,248 when billed annually, equal to $104 per month. Paying the $119 monthly rate for 12 months totals $1,428, so the listed annual option saves $180 before taxes or other account-specific charges.

Does Freed include a Business Associate Agreement?

Freed says its BAA is included in the Platform Terms accepted at signup. Its help center also provides a process to request a separate signed copy. A regulated organization should review the actual agreement, covered account, settings, and deployment before processing ePHI.

Can you cancel a Freed subscription anytime?

Freed's current help article says direct subscribers can cancel through account settings. Access continues through the paid billing period, then renewal stops. Refunds are not provided by default. Marketplace subscriptions follow the marketplace's cancellation and refund process.
